HERNE is a pagan metal project written and performed by two musicians from Germany and England. Morten B ( Thulr, Folkearth ) and Sceot Acwealde ( Symbel, Bretwaldas of Heathen Doom ) got together in 2009 and 2010 at King Penda's Dungeon Studio, Birmingham, England, to record some raw, atmospheric and nostalgic pagan metal inspired by the 1980s TV series 'Robin of Sherwood', the book 'The Way of Wyrd' by Brian Bates, and the folk tales of Northern Europe. The band's first 41 minute release is called 'Face of the Hunter', which contains seven tracks of real drums, real amplifed guitars, real acoustic instruments, and leafy, archaic synthesiser tones. It is available only at King Penda Productions in the U.K, and via the Herne myspace page in Germany.
